Police Search for Accused Molester

Charleston police are searching for a man accused of fondling an underage girl on a public school bus.

The young girl told her mother than on two occasions in the last year, her bus driver touched her inappropriately. Now police are asking for the public's help in locating the man.

Deas McNeil, 46, faces two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, according to a police incident report. His last address was in Adams Run, S.C. He's been on leave with the bus operator since the investigation began in early November.

The girl said both incidents occurred on the bus as it navigated parts of West Ashley. The first fondling incident, in which the bus driver allegedly touched the girl's breasts, happened a year ago.

The girl told her mother and the police officer that she was scared to say anything at the time, but then when the man grabbed her buttocks a month ago, she decided to come forward.

McNeil is black man who resides on Hwy. 174 in Adams Run. Anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact police at 843-577-7434 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
