Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Effect

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for much of the S.C. Lowcountry until 6:45 p.m.

UPDATED 6:45 p.m.: A flash flood warning will remain in effect in for portions of Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties until 7:45 p.m., according to a severe weather alert from the National Weather Service.

ORIGINAL Story: The National Weather Service in Charleston issued a severe thunderstorm warning for much of the Lowcountry lasting through 6:45 p.m.

The warning is in effect for Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester and Colleton counties. 

A line of severe thunderstorms is moving east at 10 MPH from the area near Givhans Ferry State Park. Damaging winds in excess of 60 MPH and torrential rains are forecast for the warning area. Localized flooding is a possibility.
