South Carolina Hospital Shooting: Employee In Critical Condition
One person was shot and injured in a shooting at Regional Medical Center-Orangeburg on Wednesday morning, the hospital said.

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — An employee is in critical condition after a shooting at Regional Medical Center-Orangeburg Wednesday morning, offiicals said.
The shooting occurred in the hospital's emergency department at around 8:45 a.m. The shooter has been apprehended and was identified as 23-year-old Abrian Dayquan Sabb, a resident of Orangeburg, according to The Post and Courier.
Sabb faces a charge of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, the paper reported.

At a press conference, officials said the accused shooter had been a patient at the hospital who had left on his own and came back. Citing arrest warrants, the Post and Courier reported that Sabb arrived at the emergency department around 7:30 a.m., left around 8:30 a.m. and then returned around 8:45 a.m. and opened fire.
A patient called 911 and provided officials with the details they needed. The shooter surrendered to a hospital security guard, officials said.

The hospital has returned to normal operations but the emergency department remains under lockdown.
