Sign Up Now for Special Olympics Torch Run
The Special Olympics South Carolina Mid Winter Games are just around the corner and will take place at the Citadel on March 1-3
Special Olympics athletes can sign up now for the 2013 Mid Winter Games "Flame of Hope" Torch Run.
Local law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes will lead the run along the 2.3 mile course from Brittle Bank Park to Johnson Hagood Stadium on the Citadel campus starting at 7 p.m., Friday, March 1. Registration for the run ends at 6:30 p.m. that night. Anyone interested in participating can register now online.
The Mid Winter Games will feature individual basketball skills events, team basketball events, badminton, disc golf, bowling and power lifting. Events begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday March 2. More information about the games and schedules is available on the Special Olympics South Carolina website.

The Mid Winter Games is a statewide event that brings in more than 1,000 Special Olympics athletes each year.
