Synter Resource Group to Support Local Fraternal Order of Police

The Charleston Stingrays are donating proceeds of their April 7 game to support the distressed officers fund.

Charleston, South Carolina, is a great and engaging community that is always happy to rally behind our local law enforcement and support them where they need it. Luckily for us, they’ve found a way to make it fun, too.

The Charleston Stingrays, our local minor league hockey team, has partnered with the local Fraternal Order of Police to raise money for their distressed officer fund. Usually, if an officer is injured, has a family emergency, or otherwise has an unexpected and harmful event occur, the Fraternal Order of Police is able to offer their brothers money to help them through this difficult time. Whether or not the issue took place in the line of duty doesn’t matter to this particular fund -- the officers are dedicated to helping each other out.

On April 7, the Stingrays are hosting a game whose ticket sales will help replenish the distressed officer fund. Along with a number of other local businesses, Synter purchased a block of seats so we can cheer on our favorite local team and do good in our community all at once. We’re so pleased that our local team is helping to keep our officers taken care of, and we’re excited to participate! Here are some of the reasons this particular cause is near and dear to us here in Charleston:

Our Officers are Our Neighbors: Charleston takes pride in trying to hire law enforcement from within the community. That way, they know the ins and outs of the area, from unspoken rules to interpersonal details of their neighbors’ lives. People from communities better know effective tactics for helping keep it safe from thieves and criminals.

Our Officers keep us Safe: We realize that the job of a police officer is a life-threatening one with no guarantee that they make it home at night. When we don’t want to deal with a dangerous situation or put our lives on the line, our officers do. It’s important that we support them as they help protect our lives, liberty and property, sometimes in the most dangerous and dire of circumstances.

Our Officers’ Families Need Support, Too: The family members of police officers are known to live with concern and anxiety that their loved ones may or may not come home. This particular game at the Stingrays is to support the families of officers who suffered some sort of tragedy in the field, and a part of supporting our officers is supporting their families in times of peril.

Synter is excited to be attending this game with David Aylor, Jeff’s Barbering and Lowcountry Energy Dynamics on April 7! Look for photos from us at the event coming out soon.
