What Should Go Here: Blockbuster

Coming out of the Great Recession empty storefronts are pretty common, but we want to know what Patch.com users want to see fill those empty business properties

Video rental businesses had a good 30-plus year run from the early 1980s until today's ON-Demand world.

The latest casualty looks likely to be Blockbuster Video which announced the closing of more than 300 stores in January, including this one at 1812 Sam Rittenberg Blvd.

This spot in Westwood Plaza has been home to the movie rental chain since VHS was the dominant format, but not for much longer. Everything in the store is for sale, so if you're looking to pad out your DVD or Blu-Ray collection, now would be a good time to check out the movies still available — DVDs are all priced at $7.99 or less and all candy is 30 percent off, among other deals. The location will remain open until March 24.

Once Blocbuster is gone though, the location will be one of several available in Westwood Plaza, which is anchored by Barnes & Noble and TJ Maxx. Other large tenants have already pulled out of the center including Marshalls and Shoe Carnival.

So the question is what do you want to see go here?
