Woman Arrested at Ashley Hall with a Gun Won't Face Federal Charges
On Monday Charleston Police arrested Beaufort woman outside Ashley Hall School after she allegedly pointed a gun at a school employee.

Charleston Police confirmed Friday that a woman arrested outside of Ashley Hall School on Monday after allegedly pointing a handgun at a school employee will not be facing any federal charges related to the incident.
"Based on information received this morning from the ATF, no federal charges will be filed against Alice Boland at this time," Charleston Police Public Information Officer Charles Francis wrote in a statement emailed to local media.
Police also released information about the gun Boland, 28, allegedly had in her possession. Officers recovered three boxes of ammunition, containing 111 bullets from Boland's car, according to a supplemental case report released on Friday.

Around 3:22 p.m. Monday police received a call from Ashley Hall School about a woman who had pointed a gun at school officials. Shortly thereafter officers detained Boland. She is charged with attempted murder, two counts of pointing of a firearm, unlawful carrying of a firearm and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Boland allegedly attempted to fire the gun at school officials, but no round was in the chamber when she pulled the trigger, the Post and Courier reports (subscription required).

Boland purchased the .22 caliber Taurus P22 handgun and ammunition legally at a Walterboro Gun Shop, according to the supplemental case report.
