Central Man Killed After Vehicle Swept Away

Man's body found on family's Silver Creek Road property.

A Central man died Tuesday after his vehicle was swept into a creek.

The body of Logan Dale Evans, 23, of 417 Silver Creek Road, was found on his family's property, according to Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley.

Kelley said Evans was driving on Silver Creek Road Tuesday evening when his vehicle was washed down the creek.

Deputies told Fox Carolina Evans' family reported him missing Wednesday afternoon.

Evans was not in his vehicle when he was found, Kelley said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy is scheduled for today.

Evans' death is being investigated by the Pickens County Coroner's Office, the Pickens County Sheriff's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

A Pickens County father and son escaped from their vehicle after it was swept away on the same road Tuesday night.

According to Fox Carolina, Silver Creek Road is closed at this time. to all but those who live in the area.
