Easley Man Charged With Attempted Murder

Victim did not want to file charges against Christopher James Smith, stating bloody altercation was just a fight that had gotten out of hand.

An Easley man is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly stabbing his step-son six times during an altercation early Sunday morning.

An Easley man has been charged with attempted murder after a fight that happened Sunday morning.

The Powdersville Post reports that Christopher James Smith, 41, of , was arrested after an altercation with his 29-year-old stepson Patrick Delano Frady at the Jones Avenue address.

Police arrived at the scene and found Frady with several stab wounds.

Frady, who did not want charges filed against his stepfather, told police he and Smith began arguing after Smith “disrespected” Frady’s mother.

Frady suffered multiple stab wounds during the fight and was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment.

He told police that the incident was just a fight that had gotten out of hand.   

Smith told police he was only defending himself after Frady began yelling at him during the argument.

Smith is currently being held at the Pickens County Detention Center.
