Easley Woman Killed During Fight

Greenville County Sheriff's deputies said the someone called 911 when they saw a woman with blood covering her arms at an apartment complex at 1114 North Franklin Road about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

A 25-year-old Easley woman has died as a result of a fight with an acquaintance at an apartment complex in Greenville.

According to Fox Carolina, the woman has been identified by the Greenville County Coroner's Office as Kristin Collins of Easley.

Greenville County Sheriff's deputies said the someone called 911 when they saw a woman with blood covering her arms at an apartment complex at 1114 North Franklin Road about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

When deputies arrived, they found the woman with a gunshot wound lying on the ground. She was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where she later died.

Deputies said 29-year-old Carlos Toj-De La Cruz, of Greenville, was detained at the complex. Cruz got into an altercation with the Collins inside his apartment, leading to the shooting. Cruz and Collins were acquaintances, according to deputies.

Cruz has been charged with Murder and Possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was denied bond in court Sunday awaiting another hearing before a circuit court judge.
