
A grassroots group is asking the community to give input on Easley’s Middle School program.
Many residents in Easley are hoping the school board will revisit its decision to stop plans to renovate Gettys Middle School, which would give the Easley area two middle schools.
District officials say there is not enough money remaining in the district’s building plan to fund the planned renovations to Gettys, hence the need to focus on the middle school which will be housed at the former Easley High School site.

Board chair Judy Edwards said the board hopes to learn just how much remains in the building fund at Monday night’s board meetng.
Some believe the district should reverse a decision to give some of the interest generated by the building fund back to the taxpayers, in order to fund the middle school renovation.
