West End Elementary Students Are "Stepping It Up With STEM"

Students challenged to create tall, free-standing towers using various items.

Students at West End Elementary are enjoying their new STEM lab. STEM education uses problem-solving, hands on learning to improve students’ critical thinking, cooperative learning, and self-reflection skills.

During the first week of STEM, students were introduced to the Engineering Design Process and challenged to use this method to create tall, free-standing towers using various item such as Legos, spaghetti noodles and marshmallows.
