Bon Voyage! Marrington 4th Graders Take Dream Vacation…..if only in their imagination!
Marrington 4th grade students were recently given $100,000 (imaginary money of course!) for a “Dream Vacation.” The students in Mrs. Alyssa Seyfried and Mrs. Jessica Young’s classes were required to make a two week itinerary and plan for each detail of the trip. The students found airfare to destinations, transportation while there, hotel and other lodging, activities, souvenirs, and were also required to plan for meals by finding online menus from restaurants in their city. Once the itinerary and budget was complete, the students created “scrapbooks” where they pretended they went on the trip and wrote journals and took photographs using their research of the destinations. Once done with that, the enthusiastic “travelers” did further research on their destinations and created travel posters to advertise their trips. Some of the dream vacations included a European Vacation, trips to Italy, Asia and South Africa.
