Boulder Bluff Students Learn About Career Opportunities
Students get an inside look at potential future careers.
Few things are as cool than a helicopter pilot. Well, maybe a mechanic. And a jet engineer. And also a nurse. Oh, and a journalist.Â
Boulder Bluff Elementary students learned about varying careers Thursday during Career Day at their school. Businessmen and businesswomen volunteered their day to talk about what they do, and inspire career choices for the children.Â
"It's important to give them options of what they want to be when they grow up," State Department employee Anthony Graves said. "There are a lot of opportunities out there that they might not know about."

Graves works with assigning U.S. passports and talked to the children about why passports are needed and what you can do with a passport.Â
Some of the children already knew what they wanted to be when they grow up:Â

"You can be anything you want. I want to be a doctor," Ryan said.
"A doctor," Nyasia said.Â
"One of those people who work in an office," Ella said.Â
Presenters at the Career Day included Goose Creek Patch editor Lindsay Street, a Boeing employee, a U.S. Air Force helicopter pilot, a lawyer, banking employees, a mechanic, a tow truck driver and more.Â
Street also spoke with Marrington Elementary about a career as a reporter. Click here to see photos from that event.
