New Look Underway for Goose Creek City Website

Goose Creek City Council unanimously authorized contracting with CivicPlus to build a new city website.

The city's current website, www.cityofgoosecreek.com, was designed in 2007. 

"(The city's website) should be always up to date and attractive," city Public Information Officer Jesica Mackey said, adding that a website helps with economic development and attracting new residents.

The process for developing a new website began a year ago, and recently, the city's senior staff entertained three proposals from three different companies. Mackey said CivicPlus was selected because the company does government websites only and will do a redesign in four years.

The cost will be nearly $50,000. While it was the highest of the three bids, Mackey said CivicPlus offered more options than the other two companies, such as the redeisgn. 

The authorization was during the May 14 regular meeting of council.
