Deputies Release More Info on Weekend Club Shootings

Club Pluto incident injures two as victims drive away from club; Nowhere shooting injures three after suspect accuses establishment of racism.

No arrests have been made in either of this past weekend's shootings at two area bars that injured five people, but Berkeley County deputies have released the incident reports.

The man who injured two outside Club Pluto on Red Bank Road is described as a heavyset black male with dreads, known as "Baz" and possibly living on Pineshadow Drive.

The man who injured three outside Nowhere Bar is described as a 5-foot, 8-inches, 160-pound black male aged 21-28 dressed all in black.

Club Pluto Shooting

At around 1 a.m. Sunday, the suspect was allegedly in the club throwing up gang signs and making hand gestures at victims as if he was shooting them. Then, the man allegedly punched a 22-year-old man — starting a fight in the club.

A teen party was being held inside the club at the time.

All parties involved in the fight were thrown out of the club, according to the report. The fight moved outside and an 18-year-old man was struck with a heavy object by the suspect, according to the report.

When the 22-year-old man the suspect punched in the club began to drive away, the suspect allegedly followed and then shot at them. A bullet struck the 22-year-old man in the right hip. And another victim in the vehicle sustained a minor abrasion from shrapnel, according to the report.

Nowhere Bar Shooting

When deputies arrived to Nowhere Bar in the early morning hours of Sunday, three victims were found lying on the floor just inside the doorway of the bar.

Witnesses told deputies that two black men entered the bar at around 1:50 a.m. Sunday and asked to be served. They were told it was past last call and that no one would be served, and one of the men said the establishment refused them service because they were black, according to the report.

An altercation broke out and the suspects left the bar. At the bar's closing, those involved in the altercation waited for a while before leaving to make sure the suspects had left but when they went outside, one of the men approached them, according to the report.

According to a witness, the man took off his shirt and then a few loud pops were heard, and she saw a shotgun in the hands of the other man who was in the bar earlier. The suspects allegedly fled the area, and the victims were brought inside the bar.
