A high-scoring game at the Swamp in Summerville started the high school football season for Goose Creek and Ashley Ridge.
The Goose Creek Gators defeated the Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes 56-28, according to scores reported by Maxpreps.com.Â
The Gators are ranked No. 5 in the state, and will go on to play No. 136 Colleton County 7:30 p.m. next Friday at home. The Swamp Foxes are ranked No. 52 in the state, and will go on to play No. 23 Wando 7:30 p.m. next Friday away.
