Did you know that all South Carolina seventh grade students are required to show proof of having the Tdap vaccine after their seventh birthday?Â
Tdap is a booster vaccine that protects preteens and adults from three dangerous diseases: tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough (also called pertussis).
Throughout the month of August, the state's Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) is offering mass vaccination clinics in which rising seventh graders can receive FREE Tdap shots and meet the entry requirements for the 2013-2014 school year.  On Saturday, August 17, the Goose Creek and Moncks Corner Health Departments will be offering their mass vaccination clinics from 9 AM to 4:15 PM.Â
