How To Stay Peaceful When Your Life Is Looking Tricky: Turn It Over, Believe And Tell Others
Romans 5:2-5
We exult in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
How you are doing in life depends on how you choose to interpret whatever is actually happening to you at any given moment. Whether the issue is your job, your health, your money, or your relationships, things always happen for a reason. The winds of change come to move you further down your road, so that you will experience something or someone that you otherwise wouldn’t have experienced if you had stayed on the course you were on. The key to staying peaceful when your life is looking tricky and you don’t know what is going to happen is: to remember that you and God are partners. No matter what is going on, if you ask Him to, God will take every situation that comes in your life and guide you so that you have the best outcome, the one that He wants for you. God says to rejoice in tribulations or tricky times, because they are His glory. He loves to handle the big things for you, the things you could never “get” on your own because if everything were so easy, you would be tempted to think that good things happened because of something you did. That is why it is always so important that when your prayer has been answered; whether it was a big miracle, like your health improving or the attainment of your dream job; or a small blessing, like finding your lost keys, if you prayed about it, and He fixed it, tell others. Better yet, tell them before your answer comes. Let people know that you have turned the outcome of your prayer over to God and you know He will handle it in the best possible way. That way, your faith in God’s power will serve as an example and encouragement to others. They will see how you turned your issue over to God and believed that He would help you. And the fact that you believed in God’s power before your ship rolled in will really impress them. The added bonus with all of this is that as you speak about your faith and your belief that God has your issue already handled, your faith will actually increase. You will feel better! You will be able to say the moment that disappointment or uncertainty comes upon you, “I know this looks yucky right now, but God is saving me from something like a car wreck, a divorce, or some other disaster that would have occurred if things had stayed the same!” Then when your answer actually comes, and your situation resolves itself, the people you have shared with will really see how powerful God is. They will think, “If God did it for her, He will do it for me.” The way you handled your tricky time will encourage the hearts of others and serve as the very best example of faith in a very tangible way. That’s how you become a “witness” for your faith. That’s how you ease your heart when tricky times occur. And most of all, that’s what God wants for you this day. He will heal you. He will help you. He will guide you. Your job is to believe and to tell others.
