Moncks Corner Mayor Announces Bid for Supervisor

Bill Peagler says he will run in 2014 election.

Town of Moncks Corner Mayor Bill Peagler has announced he will run for Berkeley County Supervisor, Berkeley Independent reported.

The current county supervisor is Dan Davis, and the seat goes up for election in 2014. Davis and Peagler are Republicans, and the Republican primary is June 2014 prior to the November general election.

Davis has been in the seat since 2007. Peagler has been mayor of Moncks Corner since 2005.

The Independent reported:

“This is not a race against (current supervisor) Dan Davis,” the mayor said. “I’m running to represent the people of Berkeley County.”

Davis has not announced his candidacy for re-election to the office.
