Electric City Playhouse opens 2019 with "Tuck Everlasting"

The family-friendly musical is on stage in Anderson January 25 to February 3, 2019

Electric City Playhouse in Anderson opens its 2019 season with the family-friendly musical “Tuck Everlasting”. Based on Natalie Babbitt’s beloved children’s book, “Tuck Everlasting” sees curious 11-year-old Winnie Foster anxious for adventure. While wandering the woods near her family’s home, Winnie discovers the mysterious Tuck family. The Tucks have a secret which could change Winnie’s life forever. Described as an “enchanting sweetheart of a musical” (Newsday), “Tuck Everlasting” will charm audiences as it ponders questions of love, family, and life.

Jessica Wayland of Pendleton is directing, with Music Direction by Drew Deaton of Anderson. Kyra Morgan of Seneca is the Stage Manager. Brooke Diaz of Pelzer is Assistant Choreographer and Michelle Bowen of Anderson is the Dance Captain.

“Tuck Everlasting” has Book by Claudia Shear and Tim Federle with Music by Chris Miller and Lyrics by Nathan Tysen and is based on the Novel “Tuck Everlasting” by Natalie Babbitt. “Tuck Everlasting” is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.

“Tuck Everlasting” is performed Fridays through Sundays from January 25 through February 3, 2019. Performances are at 7:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays and at 3pm on Sundays. Tickets are $15 each. ECP’s 2019 season also includes the one-acts “Laundry & Bourbon” and “Lone Star” presented together as “1959 Pink Thunderbird”; “Musical of Musicals (The Musical!)”; “The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood”; “Moon Over Buffalo”; and “Messiah on the Frigidaire”.
