Greenville has a storied and intricate history, which should be preserved for future generations.
March 23, 2021
Greenville has a storied and intricate history, which should be preserved for future generations. This history is an asset that can convey the culture and values that unite our citizens and serve as a catalyst for community and economic development; however, the representation of Greenville’s history must be inclusive of all communities, persons and perspectives from all walks of life. State Representative Chandra Dillard, a former member of Greenville City Council, has graciously volunteered her time to assist in that effort and has been named as a History and Heritage Advisor to the City of Greenville. In her advisory capacity, Representative Dillard, who has demonstrated a commitment to the preservation and comprehensive telling of history through her dedicated service to the community, will guide City Council on steps it can take to preserve, protect and promote a comprehensive and inclusive depiction of our city’s history.
