Rolling Green Village senior living community in Greenville has announced a new hire in their partnership with Prisma Health. Dr. Alan Thompson has joined the team as an on-site hospitalist. In his new position, Dr. Thompson will be responsible for bringing a new level of hospital inpatient experience to the Mildred L. Smith Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on the Rolling Green Village campus. He will help enhance the clinical skill sets of nurses at the community and improve recovery times.

Rolling Green Village has been serving seniors for more than three decades with nearly 600 total residents calling the community home. As a Life Care community, Rolling Green Village provides residents on-site health services, including assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation if they need it.

Dr. Thompson brings more than 15 years of diverse experience to the Rolling Green Village community. “We’re excited to be one of only two communities in the area to have an on-site hospitalist at our community,” said Marketing Director Ruth Wood. “This will differentiate Rolling Green Village as the community for rehabilitation in Greenville, as we expect to see return hospital visits decline with Dr. Thompson visiting patients on a regular basis.”

Dr. Thompson is the second Prisma Health employee to join the Rolling Green Village team. In 2018, the community welcomed Dr. Melissa Bailey-Taylor as the community medical director. Since joining the team, she’s elevated rehabilitation services at Rolling Green Village by overseeing the entire rehabilitation staff at the senior living community.
