Sea Pines Country Club Named 'Distinguished Club'

Premier private club offering a luxury, Lowcountry lifestyle, has again received the prestigious "Distinguished Club" recognition

Sea Pines Country Club, Hilton Head Island’s premier private club offering a luxury, Lowcountry lifestyle, has again received the prestigious “Distinguished Club” recognition by BoardRoom Magazine.

The Distinguished Clubs program uses an exclusive rating system that recognizes facilities, management and staff based on a top-tier member experience. Sea Pines Country Club continues to exceed service, staff quality and club governance standards. Fewer than 200 out of 3,400 private clubs in America have been awarded this status.

“BoardRoom Magazine is one of the most respected voices in the private club industry and we’re honored to once again be named a Distinguished Club,” says General Manger and Chief Operating Officer Robbie Ames. “It’s a testament to how the club has evolved to exceed members’ expectations, and how well-positioned it is for the future.”

Over the past four years under the leadership of Ames, his professional management team and a progressive and forward-thinking board, Sea Pines Country Club met the ambitious objectives of its “Vision 2020 Facility Enhancement Plan.”

The 17,000-square-foot clubhouse has been expanded and enhanced to provide the ultimate sanctuary for members and their families. New casual-yet-contemporary dining experiences abound with the Blue Heron Pub & Grille and the Club Course Café. Fine dining is led by Executive Chef Brian Coseo, complemented by a diverse wine collection curated by in-house Food and Beverage Director Mike Lozan.

Capping the Vision 2020 Enhancement Plan, a 7,300-square-foot fitness center opened in 2019 featuring the latest cardio and strength training equipment and infrared saunas. A new second floor with a balcony overlooks the tennis center and golf practice range and features a multipurpose room for group classes and gatherings.

Sea Pines Country Club is a highly-amenitized property, and its centerpiece is a resort-caliber pool deck overlooking one of the island’s largest tidal marshes. Members soak up the South Carolina sun while cooling off in the waters of the 24-meter lap pool as children play in the fountains of the kids’ splash pool just a few feet away. An array of food and beverage options are available poolside, via the Club Course Café.

Golfers appreciate the club’s Arnold Palmer, Clyde-Johnston-designed “Club Course,” a pure example of Lowcountry golf course design, with its narrow, tree-lined fairways, doglegs, subtle green complexes and languid lagoons. There’s a sense of intrigue on every tee box of this shotmaker’s layout, as players discover what style of hole comes next.
