Apple patents an answering system for the iPhone

The virtual assistant of the iPhone can answer calls when the user is not available

  • The virtual assistant of the iPhone can answer calls when the user is not available
  • Google has recently shown how its artificial intelligence can pass perfectly for a human being

Talking with articulate intelligence may seem strange right now, but if Apple and Google propose it, whether we like it or not, we will end up doing it. The apple company is the last to bet on it.

This technology can be defined as a very intelligent answering machine, which knows thanks to the actions of the user when it should not be disturbed and when it can decline an incoming call in a polite manner. So, for example, if the phone is silent or connected to a car, Siri can answer by saying to call at another time.

Of course, this could be very inconvenient in the case of emergencies, but the patent describes how Siri can adapt. If it is a contact that is talked about a lot, for example, the call would not be answered automatically and Siri can even use the location, street or time to reach the point marked in Apple Maps to inform on behalf of the user.

These new tools of Siri are an evolution of others that already exist in iOS at present, because the user can warn that he is behind the wheel automatically. The difference in this new patent is in the interaction between Siri and the person making the call.

At the beginning of May, Google showed how its artificial intelligence spoke without problems by phone, looking perfectly human, and asked for an appointment for the hairdresser or reserved a table in a restaurant, so it is not unreasonable to think that Siri, the assistant Apple, can perform similar tasks soon.
