Assistant Liar-in-Chief Lies to Conservative Values Conference
Kellyanne Conway, of "alternative facts" fame, gave CPAC a glowing character resume of Donald Trump. Does the lying never end?
As I write, Kellyanne Conway, of "alternative facts" and "Michael Keaton 'Joker' smile" fame, is speaking to CPAC, the infamous conservative values group that has, in previous years, hosted such human hate machines as Ann Coulter, Michelle Bachmann, Ted Cruz, Allen West, Laura Ingraham, Jim DeMint, Sean Hannity and Donald Trump.
Among this years featured haters are the aforementioned Kellyanne Conway, the Alt-Right white nationalist sympathizer Steve Bannon and, of course, Donald Trump (who was not invited last year because his hate machine credentials had not yet been established to the organizers' satisfaction).
They had, for this year, originally invited the human hate machine and best buddy of Steve Bannon, Milo Yiannopoulos. Milo is best known for his inflammatory racist and sexist commentary (he was/is banned from Twitter) but is now best known for recently discovered tapes on which he is heard defending sexual relationships between adult men and younger boys. Those favorable views toward sexual predation resulted in Milo's invitation to the, uh, largest conservative values conference held in the U.S. rescinded. They also cost him a $250,000 advance on a book deal and his job with Breitbart.

But, I digress.
It is enough to say that Kellyanne, who has just finished speaking, dropped her usual sarcastic, caustic tone and, affecting her best "Mary Had A Little Lamb" voice, presented the audience with a glowing verbal character resume for Donald Trump.

The Grifter certainly needed a
glowing character resume.
And he probably needs more than that.
The well-respected Quinnipiac Poll
released yesterday did not have good news
for The Donald.
Two institutions routinely attacked by
The Grifter are the courts and the media.
By wide margins, Quinnipiac reported
that Americans trusted
the courts (58%-38%)
and
the media (52%-37%)
far more than Trump
"to do the right thing"
and
"to tell you the truth about important issues."
Nowhere in Kellyanne's assessment of The Grifter's character---oxymoron?---was there any mention of his long history of fraudulent business practices (he has been a principal in over 3,000 litigations), his long history of marital infidelity, his long history of racism, sexism and xenophobia, the abominable practices of his "foundation" (now deceased), the racketeering practices of his "Trump University," the abominable ways in which he has treated members of his extended family (he withdrew health care insurance for a nephew who suffered from an incurable disease because of a disagreement with his nephew's father---his own brother) and his long history of bald-faced lying.
Instead, Kellyanne pushed a picture of Trump as kind, generous, compassionate and the personification of conservative values.
Two questions:
(1) Kind, generous, compassionate? Who the hell was she talking about?
(2) If Donald Trump's values are "the personification of conservative values"---fraud, infidelity, racism, sexism, xenophobia, personal cruelty to members of one's own family and pathological lying---then I want to know what conservatives have been smoking.
