Update: Missing Elderly Man With Alzheimer's Found Safe

The 75-year-old man wandered away from a home on Brown Chapel Circle.

Update, 5:27 p.m.: Newberry County Sheriff's deputies located the missing elderly man who wandered away from a house on Brown Chapel Circle Tuesday afternoon. 

Johnnie Pat Pitts, 75, was found walking on Bush River Road near Paul Long Road, several miles from where he was last seen, according to the sheriff's office.

Newberry County Sheriff’s Office deputies are looking for an elderly man with Alzheimer’s who wandered away from a residence on Brown Chapel Circle Tuesday afternoon. 

Johnnie Pat Pitts, 75, was last seen at approximately 1 p.m. at a residence on Brown Chapel Circle. 

Pitts is described as a black male, 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black and brown plaid shirt and blue jeans. 

The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office has investigators and bloodhounds on scene searching for Pitts.
