Dutch Fork High Baseball Coach to Lead Columbia Blowfish

Dutch Fork High School baseball coach Jonathan Johnson has been named the new coach of the Columbia Blowfish, the organization announced Wednesday.

Johnson takes over as head coach after Brian Buscher left to coach with the University of South Carolina.

The former Major League pitcher has coached the Silver Foxes for three seasons.

Johnson, who was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the first-round of the Major League Draft in 1995, played for six seasons with the Rangers, the San Diego Padres and the Houston Astros.

The defending Coastal Plain League Champions' season starts May 29.
