Irmo, Dutch Fork Boys Soccer Teams Head to State Championships
The Yellow Jackets (15-8) defeated the Trojans with a 2-1 victory; the Silver Foxes topped Fort Dorchester 2-1.

The Irmo boys soccer team will play for the Class 4A Upper State championship on Tuesday after a win against Northwestern.
The Yellow Jackets (15-8) defeated the Trojans with a 2-1 victory Saturday night at W C Hawkins Stadium.

Irmo and Northwestern were tied 1-1 at the end of the first half, but the Yellow Jackets fought hard to score the game-winning goal with 8:07 remaining, according to a report from The Herald.Â
Irmo's Edwin Garcia was first to score with an assist from Caleb Jenkins in the first half. Sam Padula scored the final goal.

Irmo will host Nation Ford Tuesday.Â
In other 4A news, Dutch Fork High topped Fort Dorchester with a 2-1 win to advance to the Lower State championship.
Scoring for Dutch Fork (17-5-1) were Grahm Jermstad and Rett Stevens.
The Silver Foxes will play the Lexington Wildcats next Tuesday at home.
In Class 3A, Chapin High fell to Eastside 2-3 Saturday night.Â
Chapin led the game at the half with a score of 2-1, but Eastside was able to keep the Eagles from scoring in the second half.Â
Scoring for the Eagles was Cameron Whitehurst.
