I-text, a service that provides coupons from local businesses to subscribers, is donating money to Crimestoppers based on the number of people that subscribe to their service.Â
To subscribe, in the "to" line of a new text message, enter the code 70000. In the "message" line, type nocrime and leave a space. Then type in your e-mail address and leave a space. Finally, type in your zip code and hit "send."
In a few minutes you will receive two return texts: one welcoming you to the I-texts service, reminding you that message and data rates may apply depending on your plan, and a second one thanking you for opting in and asking you to follow a link to put in your preferences and conclude your enrollment.
You can also subscribe by going to the following web address and completing the enrollment information at http://signup.i-texts.com/nocrime.
If you have a cell phone plan with unlimited texting, there should be no cost in signing up.Â
