Report: Deliberations Begin Wednesday in Brett Parker Federal Gambling Trial
The federal gambling trial for three Midlands men including Irmo bookie, Brett Parker, continues Wednesday.

A jury will begin deliberations Wednesday in the federal gambling trial for three men authorities say operated a sports betting ring in the Midlands, according to a report from The State.
Brett Parker, an admitted sports bookie, his father Jack Parker and Douglas E. Taylor are charged with one count of conduct of an illegal gambling business.
According to the report, prosecutors had to convince the jury that at least five people were involved in the gambling ring and that it was in operation for at least 30 consecutive days or had a "gross revenue of $2,000 or more on any single day.
Brett Parker is serving two consecutive life sentences after being found guilty in May for the murders of his wife, Tammy Jo Parker, and his sports betting clerk, Bryan Capnerhurst.
