4 Lexington County Businesses Make Inc. 5000 List of Fastest-Growing Companies

Inc., a magazine and website for business owners and entrepreneurs, released its list of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the U.S.

Four Lexington County companies are among the 5,000 fastest growing companies in the U.S., according to Inc.com, a website for entrepreneurs and business owners.

Two of those companies made it in the top 500 on the 2013 Inc. 5000 list and are featured in the September issue of Inc. Magazine on newsstands now.

Companies are ranked based on percentage revenue growth when comparing 2009 to 2012.

A Lexington company, Space Saving Solutions, ranked 271. The company designs and installs storage in health care facilities, government agencies and universities. In 2012, Space Saving Solutions generated $5.8 million in revenue - a more than 1,500 percent increase since 2008.

Williams Strength, a West Columbia manufacturer of athletic training and weight equipment, ranked 184. The company generated $3.5 million in revenue in 2012 — a more than 1,260 percent increase since 2009. The company's equipment is used in colleges and high schools.

Two other Lexington County companies made the list. Total Weight and Strength, a West-Columbia based seller of weight equipment and rubber floors, ranked 1,140. A3 Communications, an Irmo company that integrates IT systems, ranked 4,229.

Inc. introduced the Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing companies in 1982 and expanded to include the 5,000 fastest-growing companies. Companies apply to make the list, and are invited to an awards ceremony if selected.
