How Special is Lexington?
Special enough to win Reader's Digest's competition for the nation's "most interesting town?" Persuade the judges, and you could win $1,000.

Reader's Digest is looking for America's Most Interesting Town. Can Lexington make the grade? It could be up to you -- but you'll need to hurry.
From now until May 31, locals are invited to log on to the contest Web site to share personal stories and photos that illustrate what makes their town special.
Some of the stories Americans have shared so far include, but aren't limited to:
- Descriptions and photos of the most scenic spots in town.
- Famous (or infamous) historical figures from the area.
- The people, places, and local businesses that make their town one-of-a-kind.
The author of the winning story will receive a cash prize of $1,000 and their town will be featured on the cover of an upcoming issue of Reader’s Digest magazine.
"This is an opportunity for individuals to shine and possibly bring national attention to their hometowns," a release from the magazine said.

In addition, each week a new American town will be named America’s Most Interesting Town by popular vote and will be featured on the Web site and in an upcoming issue of Reader’s Digest. Locals can show their community spirit by logging on and voting for their town as many times as they like.
