Update: Traffic Cleared From Two I-20 Crashes

S.C. Highway Patrol worked two accidents on Interstate 20 eastbound near Highway 1.

UPDATE (9:30 a.m.): According to the Patch traffic app, things are now moving smoothly along I-20 and old Two Notch Road in Lexington County following three morning crashes.

ORIGINAL STORY: Two Wednesday morning crashes on Interstate 20 eastbound have traffic backed up more than seven miles.

According to the S.C. Highway Patrol, a crash shortly before 7 a.m. at Mile Marker 59 was followed by a crash shortly before 8 a.m. at Mile Marker 58.

The two wrecks have traffic backed up to Longs Pond Road, Exit 51.

Complicating matters has been a crash on Two Notch Road at YMCA Road, near Highway 6, which often serves as a workaround for I-20 traffic. Two Notch is backed up to Emmanuel Church Road.
