Lexington County Extends Pilot Bus Route, Adds Stops

The bus route offers roundtrip service from downtown Columbia to Lexington's Red Bank Crossing.

Lexington County's pilot bus route will now run through September 30 and make two stops in the Town of Lexington.

The route, which offers roundtrip service from downtown Columbia to Red Bank Crossing on Mondays, was originally scheduled to end June 24. 

In addition to stops in Cayce and West Columbia, the CMRTA bus will now stop at the Walmart shopping area on Sunset Boulevard and at the Lexington County Administration building on South Lake Drive.

The bus route starts at the Transit Center at Sumter and Laurel streets in downtown Columbia and ends at Red Bank Crossing at 1070 South Lake Drive, which houses the Lexington County Health Department, Department of Social Services, and Lexington‐Richland Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council (LRADAC).

The bus departs from the Transit Center every Monday at 8:15 a.m., 12 p.m., and 2:30 p.m., and now has six stops between the Transit Center and Red Bank Crossing:
