Lexington Man Killed When Truck Struck by Train

A Lexington man was killed early Sunday morning when his vehicle was struck by a train.

Robin Neal Quarles, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries he suffered in the accident, according to the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.

The accident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday when Quarles’ truck was struck by a Norfolk & Southern train at the intersection of Smith Pond Road and Two Notch Road in Lexington. 

The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
