Lexington Race Against Hunger Means Runners, Traffic
Saturday morning's event could be wet, but come visit Patch anyway.

The Lexington Race Against Hunger is set for a cool, damp Saturday morning — but the show will go on.
In 12 years of hosting, the Lexington Race Against Hunger has raised almost $275,000 to feed the hungry.
And it's not too late to join. Last-minute registration will take place from 6:40 to 7:45 a.m. Saturday.

Here are the race times:
- 5K Fitness-Walk 8:15 AM
- 10K Run 8:20 AM
- 1-mile fun run 8:25 AM
Traffic on U.S. 378 near Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church, where the races will start and end, will be affected.

The event sponsors 13 children and one family through World Vision. The remainder of the funds, about 50 percent, stay local.
Where the funds will go:
- 40 percent of the money raised will go to the Lexington Interfaith Community Service
- 25 percent will go to the Souper Bowl of Caring
- 13 children and one family will be sponsored through World Vision
- 15 percent will go to Area Churches Together Serving
- 20 percent will go to the Oliver Gospel Mission
