Lexington Teen to go to National Archery Competition
The Capital City Eagles, a Lexington based home school archery team organized under the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP)

The Capital City Eagles, a Lexington based homeschool archery team organized under the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) and the SC Department of Natural Resources (DNR), recently participated in the 2016 SC State NASP Archery Tournament. The tournament was held in March at the Sumter County Civic Center with participants from schools around South Carolina. Seven archers from the team participated including Daniel Steffee, Karder Samson, Jake Goude and Colten Wilber in the elementary division, Madison Wilber in the middle school divison, and Emily Austin and Isaac Morgan in the high school division.
Madison Wilber placed first in the Middle School Girls Division with a score of 288 out of a possible 300, qualifying her for the upcoming National NASP Tournament to be held May 12 -14 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Thousands of public, private, independent, and home schools around the U.S. and other countries participate in NASP. The Capital City Eagles team consists of 28 homeschooled students from the Midlands in grades 4 through 12 and is coached by parent volunteers.
