Police Search for Domestic Violence Suspect

Jose Luise Ortiz, 22, is wanted on multiple charges after a domestic violence incident in Lexington.

Lexington Police are looking for a man who they say broke into a woman's home and assaulted her while she was holding a child. 

Jose Luise Ortiz, 22, of Columbia is wanted on charges of criminal domestic violence, burglary and child endangerment, according to Lexington Police. 

Ortiz is accused of breaking into the woman's home on Aug. 24. Police say the woman and the child were injured during the incident. 

Police say family members may be sheltering Ortiz in or around his last known address of 7414 Claudia Drive in Columbia. 

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Ortiz should contact  the Lexington Police Department at 803-359-6260 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.  

Tips that lead to the arrest of suspects, as well as the recovery of stolen property 
and drugs are eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000, which are paid to tipsters on an anonymous basis.
