Report: Man Who Tried to Steal from Lexington Walmart Had Meth
Police stopped the man for shoplifting and found meth on him, according to a report.

A Pelion man is facing shoplifting and drug charges after police arrested him last week at the Lexington Walmart.
Trey Benjamin Bryant, 24, is charged with possession of methamphetamine and shoplifting, according to a Lexington Police Department report.
Bryant was trying to steal a TV and a laptop from the Sunset Boulevard store around 1:45 p.m. on Aug. 13, according to the report. Loss prevention officers at the store spotted Bryant, called police officers to the store and told them Bryant had stolen from the store before.
Bryant then passed all points of sale without paying for the TV and the laptop, according to the report. When he started to exit through the garden center, he saw a marked police car outside, left the shopping cart with the merchandise and went back into the store.
Officers saw Bryant come back out of the store through the general merchandise doors and walk quickly to the parking lot, according to the report. An officer stopped him.
The officer noticed that Bryant tried to reach into his front left pocket several times, according to the report. When the officer searched him, he found a plastic bag with a powdery white substance that later tested positive as meth.
When the officer ran Bryant's name with dispatch, he also found that Bryant was wanted for second-degree burglary by the Lexington County Sheriff's Department.
Bryant was arrested and booked at the Lexington County Detention Center.
