As work continues on the new Phinnize Fisher Middle School just outside Mauldin, district officials are finalizing plans to determine which students will attend rhe innovative STEM school.
The county school board has given initial approval to a plan to give top priority to students living in a zone immediately surrounding the school, located on the CU-ICAR campus.
After that, first priority will be given to rising sixth-graders at A.J Whittenberg Elementary, and then students from Mauldin, Hillcrest, Beck, Bryson, and Riverside in an effort to alleviate overcrowding at those schools.
