Mauldin Police Hold Open Enrollment for Citizen's Academy

Citizen's Police Academy's 10-week course begins next month.

The Mauldin Police Department will host their second Citizen’s Police Academy beginning September 9th, 2013 and a graduation ceremony is planned for November 18th, 2013.

The Citizen’s Police Academy is a 10-week course that will meet every Monday evening from 6pm-9pm at the Mauldin Police Department. The class is free of charge. Participants must be 21 years of age or older and reside in Greenville County. A criminal history check will be conducted.

The goal of the academy is to inform participants on how a police department functions and operates. Instruction will consist of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on-training focusing on various topics such as Crime Scene Investigation, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Gangs, Drugs and Traffic Enforcement. Academy graduates will experience an “inside look” at policing.
