Patch talks to Safe Harbor about its mission to provide continued support to victims of domestic violence and their children.
Patch: Tell Patch a little bit about your organization!
Safe Harbor: Safe Harbor offers a welcoming, safe environment for up to 4 months to those people who may not be welcome anywhere else. We have 20 beds for men and 20 beds for women and in addition to food, shelter, laundry and showers, we provide guidance and work with a large number of area agencies to help each individual move closer to a permanent home and independence.

Patch: How does your organization help to strengthen the local community?
Safe Harbor: Safe Harbor provides shelter, encouragement and support to homeless adults.

Patch: What is the biggest struggle your organization faces?
Safe Harbor: In addition to the constant struggle to receive funds needed to remain open, the biggest challenge is finding safe affordable housing options for the people in our shelter.
Patch: What do you hope for the future of your nonprofit?
Safe Harbor:We have been here more than 20 years and hope to be here for 20 more or until the day there is no need to shelter the homeless here!
