School Notes: Langston Charter Middle School

Chick-fil-A biscuits for sale, open house, non-profit fair, and more.

Chick Fil A Biscuits – Chick-fil-A biscuits will be sold in the Langston morning car line every Friday morning, starting at 7:45 a.m. Cost is $3 a biscuit. The proceeds will go to the Langston Foundation, which is the private fundraising arm of Langston Charter Middle School. Please contact Alison Thompson, Director of Development for the Langston Foundation, by emailing athompson@langstoncharter.org for more information.

Langston Prayer Group – The Langston Prayer Group meets Tuesdays at 8:30 a.m. in the George Washington Room at the school to pray for the school, the teachers, and the students.  The group is open to all Langston family members. If you have specific prayer requests or need more information, please contact the Langston Prayer Group Coordinator, Julieann Dix at 864-234-2927.   

Non-Profit Fair – On Friday, October 10, Langston Charter Middle School will host its annual Non-Profit Fair. Local non-profit agencies are invited to come to share the vision of their organization, explain what volunteer opportunities they have for students and recruit students to volunteer with their organization.

As part of the vision and core values of Langston, students are trained to explore service opportunities and learn to be contributors to society. For more information on the non-profit fair or to register your non-profit to be a part of the fair, contact Langston Director of Campus Affairs, Kelly Weekes, at 864-286-9700. 

Fall Pictures – Fall pictures for students will be taken on Tuesday, September 10 for all boys and Wednesday, September 11 for all girls.

Open House – Parents of current Langston students are invited to the school on Monday, September 16, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. for open house.  Parents will get a chance to see their child’s classrooms and learn the expectations each teacher has for his or her class.
