Sen. Tim Scott’s Office to Host Service Academy Workshops

Workshops will feature reps from West Point and the U.S. Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, and Naval academies.

Attention parents: U.S. Sen. Tim Scott’s office will host workshops throughout South Carolina in September for students interested in attending a military service academy.

Each workshop will feature a representative from the United States Air Force Academy, United States Coast Guard Academy, United States Merchant Marine Academy, United States Military Academy, and United States Naval Academy and will allow students and parents to ask questions and gather information about attending a service academy as well as the nomination and application process.

Senator Scott’s office will host nine informational sessions over two consecutive Saturdays in September.

“Our military academies produce some of the best and brightest leaders in the world,” Scott said in a news release. “I encourage any South Carolina student who is interested in serving their country and developing their leadership skills to attend a workshop to learn more about our nation’s service academies and the application process.”
