Three Upstate universities – Bob Jones University, Furman University and North Greenville University – are competing in a “Saving Lives Together” blood drive to help the Blood Connection collect a record amount of blood donations and meet a great need for blood in the Upstate.
Each university is sponsoring a drive to see which student body can get the largest percentage of their students to donate blood and strengthen unity between the schools and the greater Greenville community through the drive.

North Greenville kicked off the competition earlier this week and their drive continues through today. BJU will hold the “Together We Bleed Bruin” blood drive Oct. 7-11 and Furman’s will be held Oct. 28-Nov. 1. Students, faculty, staff and alumni at each university are encouraged to show their school spirit and give.
“It’s a great opportunity to help the greater Greenville community,” says Dr. Stephen Jones, President of BJU. “Having three universities compete against each other in a blood drive is a win-win situation for each of the universities and the community.”
