Filling newly created role, longtime Verizon executive Jeff Kissinger will search for companies whose technology solutions will benefit from cellular connectivity and increased automation.
GREENVILLE, S.C.—Verizon Wireless has announced the promotion of Verizon executive Jeff Kissinger to the newly created role of Partnership Development Manager. It’s the latest signal that Verizon is committed to the future of machine-to-machine (M2M), which describes technology that constantly relays information over a cellular network.

“By 2020, there will be 50 billion M2M connections worldwide,” said Mike Parker, Director of Data Sales for Verizon Wireless. “Verizon has been actively working to expand the M2M marketplace for more than a decade, and Jeff’s new role will help Verizon remain at the forefront of this important technology.”
Kissinger is responsible for identifying businesses that would benefit from adding a cellular data connection to an existing technology solution. M2M solutions have a variety of applications, such as fleet management, cashless vending, inventory monitoring, remote thermal sensors and live video surveillance.

A wireless data connection eliminates a solution’s dependence on a WAN or LAN wired Internet connection so it can be deployed where wired connections aren’t available.
“Verizon wants to connect with new partners to help them deliver a ready-made and turn key solution to their customers. By incorporating a wireless data connection into an existing product offering, our partners can expand their customer base and develop new technologies that are only possible with a wireless connection,” said Kissinger. “Companies are searching for ways to differentiate themselves in the competitive marketplace, and M2M can increase sales and provide additional revenue streams.”
