Were those the best teams in the country this year? Not according to the much-debated BCS system and its final 2012 rankings released on Sunday night.
While the SEC had six teams in the final top 10, including South Carolina, only two teams could make it in (Alabama and Florida). There are arguments over that, too, but most agree those are the rules.

The question is how Oklahoma, ranked No. 11 in the BCS and only losing to Nos. 1 and 5 (Notre Dame and Kansas State) managed to get left off.
Or why Clemson, which only lost to Nos. 10 and 11 (South Carolina and Florida State), is heading to the Chick-fil-A Bowl instead.
