Wreck Injures Postal Worker Near Mauldin
USPS vehicle rear-ended by tractor trailer, rammed into phone pole, while delivering mail. Simpsonville truck driver charged.

A U.S. Postal Service mail carrier was injured Wednesday afternoon when her vehicle was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer.
Harry Spratlin, South Carolina's USPS spokesman, said the worker was delivering mail to a box on the side of Mauldin Road at Fairforest Way around 11:30 a.m. when her vehicle was struck, Fox Carolina reported.
The postal worker was taken to an area hospital for treatment for unspecified injuries.
The truck driver, identified as Marco Lopez, 50, of Simpsonville was cited for driving too fast for conditions. Authorities said Lopez struck the rear of the vehicle and rammed it into a telephone pole, the station reported.
According to the report, USPS supervisors secured the mail and said it would be delivered on time.Â
