The latest hold-up occurred just before 4 a.m. at the Kangaroo gas station on Hwy. 17 near Hwy. 41. The man brandished a knife and demanded money, the store clerk told police.
He fled the scene with $100 or less, according to a police incident report. Officers used dogs to track the robber's scent an area near the Sonic drive-thru. They discovered fresh footprints and tire tracks where the dog lost the scent.
This is the second armed robbery in Mount Pleasant this week. On Monday a man robbed the Refuel gas station on Venning Road. That assailant used a gun. Police provided a surveillance camera image of the suspect and asked the public for help tracking down the suspect.
